The ASAAL Convention Committee, consisting of all Chapter President and Secretary, is preparing for our upcoming National Convention on Friday-Saturday, December 13-14, 2024, at the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel, 900 S Orme Street, Arlington, VA 22204.

This convention is very important for all of us as we have countless successes and achievements to celebrate whereas chapter leaders remain the backbone behind our existence.

IN THIS REGARD OUR NATIONAL SECRETARY MOHAMMED KARIM CHOWDHURY HAS REQUESTED THE FOLLOWING. PLEASE READ THEM CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW THE SAME ATTENTIVELY, AS ALL OUR ASAAL SUCCESS, INCLUDING SUCCESS OF THIS CONVENTION, DEPENDS ONLY ON YOUR HARD WORK AND PARTICIPATION.

Please join this convention with a team of delegates from your chapter, meet the best from the rest from chapters nationwide, exchange your views on what we do and how we can do better in your city and in your State in the future.

Here is a list from our National Secretary for convention preparation:

1. Schedule chapter meetings to discuss your activities, successes & shortcomings, organizational strengths & weaknesses, identify issues that you want to address or bring to the local politicians’ attention.

2. Talk about upcoming convention preparation. This year’s convention is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, December 13, 6 PM – 11 PM and December 14, 5 PM - 12AM. Please, update your membership lists with new and renewed membership forms.

Please prepare a separate list for life members for your Chapter. Send us the updated Chapter Committee membership lists, and the life member list for the year by October 30, 2024.

3. Write an article focusing on your chapter/committee's activities and plan of action. Provide us with 2-6 action group photos of the chapter that may be printed with your chapter article. The article must be sent to us by October 30, 2024.

4. Please reach out to your local business owners, your family doctors that you and your family visit regularly, law firms you have hired, your real estate person you bought a house from, your friends and family members who own a small business and ask for their support to the ASAAL movement by providing a journal advertisement.

And of course, if you own a business your journal ad is the one, we seek the most. Please find attached a Sponsor Package with journal ad form for your convenience. Please make sure to collect the check with the advertisement.

Remember, 50% of the Journal money collected by your chapter will be given back to the chapter as reimbursement for your incurring expenses. Top tier Sponsors can have a display table with 3 chairs near the Convention room entrance.

5. Please reach out to your local, City, State, and Federal elected officials and invite them to join our National Convention as a guest speaker. You may also request a greeting message from State-wide elected top officials. If you need us to send an invitation to your elected officials, please let us know soon and provide their respective addresses.

6. Please know the Parking for the Alliance of South Asian American Labor is in and out $5 and Discounted overnight parking $15.
