Dhaka: The 54th birth anniversary of A.K.M. Mushtaque Ali, founding executive director of INCIDIN Bangladesh, an organization working on child rights and human rights, has been celebrated.
Since Mushtaque Ali had immense love for street children, so on this occasion his birthday was celebrated by cutting a cake at the street children shelter centre, established by INCIDIN Bangladesh, at Dhalpur in the capital on Wednesday.
Officials of the centre and sheltered street children participated in it.
A.K.M. Mushtaque Ali Navbai was known as a development researcher and a pioneer of the democratic students’ movement, theater and film movement, but his first and main identity was that he was one of the founders of INCIDIN Bangladesh.
He had worked for marginalized people since the inception of the organization, and at the same time he had worked in the process of nation building. He was relentless in shaping the opinion of marginalized people through INCIDIN Bangladesh especially in the formulation and implementation of state policies, laws, plans integrating the economic development model with social development.
At the top of INCIDIN’s list of marginalized people were street children - and Mushtaque Ali played a key role in this matter.
In addition, there were sexually exploited children, children engaged in child labor, indigenous people, women workers, agricultural people, people who were victims of trafficking, and his working hours were spent in INCIDIN by giving priority to them.
AKM Mustaque Ali had been active at every turn of INCIDIN's birth, growth and journey. He died on June 21, 2023.
