DSE-CSE bourses trade lower on week’s final trading day

Dhaka, Aug 7 - Trading on the country’s two stock exchanges --Dhaka and Chattogram --continued in the red on Thursday, the last trading day of the week, with most companies witnessing a fall in their share prices.

In the first two hours of trading, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) dropped by 41 points.

The Shariah-based index DSES shed 8 points, while the blue-chip index DS30 declined by 22 points.

At DSE till that time, 219 companies share price declined, 109 advanced and 67 remained unchanged.

The turnover on the DSE stood at Tk 440 crore during the first two hours.

Similarly, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) was also trading lower, with the overall index (CASPI) losing 109 points.

Out of the 171 issues traded on the CSE, 99 declined, 52 advanced, and 20 remained unchanged.

The turnover on the port-city bourse stood at Tk 3 crore during the same period. - UNB
