Dhaka, 10 July 2025: A seminar titled “Bangladesh and Myanmar Relations from Global Power Politics: International Responses for Sustainable Peace and Stability” was held on 10 July 2025 at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). The event was organized by the Department of International Relations of BUP.

The seminar focused on the geopolitical dynamics surrounding the ongoing Rohingya crisis which has shaped and strained Bangladesh–Myanmar relations. The seminar emphasized Bangladesh’s focus on multilateral diplomatic efforts aimed at ensuring the safe repatriation of Rohingyas and maintaining regional peace and stability.

The keynote address was delivered by H.E. Ambassador Christian Lechervy, Special Envoy for Myanmar, Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France. Lt. General Mohammad Aminul Karim, PhD (Retd.), Distinguished Professor, Department of International Relations. BUP, and Professor Abul Kalam Azad, PhD, of the same department were present as panel speakers. The session was moderated by Professor Shahab Enam Khan, PhD, Department of International Relations, BUP.
