Dhaka, Nov 29 -The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended the deadline for income tax return submission by two months till January 31 for individual taxpayers.

The NBR issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday.

As per the rules, tomorrow (Thursday) was the last day to file returns. Following the extension of time, individual taxpayers will be able to submit returns till January 31 instead of November 30.

The due date for filing returns for companies was January 15, 2024 and now the deadline has been extended to February 28, 2024.

Last week, the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) requested NBR to extend the return filing period till December 31.
