President for ensuring quality education at universities

President M Abdul Hamid today asked the authorities concerned to ensure quality education at the universities as BRAC University Vice-Chancellor Professor Vincent Chang paid a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban here this evening.

"There is no alternative to ensure quality education to produce skilled human resource. Besides, research and innovation activities need to be intensified on the campuses," press secretary Md Joynal Abedin quoted the President as saying in after the meeting.

The head of state asked the university authorities across the country to formulate time-befitting curriculum so that the new generation can face  the global competition.

The Bangabhaban spokesman told BSS that the vice-chancellor, during the meeting, briefed the President on the overall activities of BRAC University, including academic and other infrastructural development.

In the meeting, Chang also invited the President, also the chancellor of the universities, to chair the upcoming convocation of the BRAC University.

President's Office Secretary Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salahuddin Islam, Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin and Secretary (attachment) Md Wahidul Islam Khan were present there, reports BSS.
