China Launches Test Satellite for Satellite Internet Tech

China successfully launched a test satellite for satellite internet technology into space on Tuesday, from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the country’s northwest.


The satellite was propelled into orbit at 12:00 p.m. (Beijing Time) aboard a Long March-2D carrier rocket, entering its designated orbit as planned.

The test satellite will be used for technical verification, including mobile-to-satellite broadband connections and the integration of space-ground networks. These experiments are crucial for advancing China’s satellite internet capabilities.

This mission also marks the 567th launch of the Long March series of carrier rockets, underscoring China's growing space capabilities.
