This partnership aims to strengthen education, research, and skill development by integrating Lectra’s advanced design and product-development technologies into the training programs conducted for BGMEA’s students and industry professionals.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at the BGMEA Complex in the capital’s Uttara. BGMEA’s Acting President Inamul Haq Khan and Pascal Pierra, Vice President of Lectra, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations, said a BGMEA press release.
Under this MoU, Lectra will provide BGMEA with 15 complimentary licenses of its world-class CAD/CAM software solutions—including Kaledo Style, Modaris 3D, and DiaminoFashion Interactive.
Through these software solutions, BGMEA’s students and instructors will receive hands-on training in advanced design, pattern making, and marker-making. This will significantly enhance students’ readiness for the job market and boost their employability.
BGMEA will ensure that its students and instructors receive specialized training from Lectra to stay updated with the latest industry knowledge and technological excellence.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by BGMEA Director Nafis-Ud-Doula; Chairman of BGMEA’s Skill Development Program (SDP) Committee, Javed Hossain Bhuiyan; and representatives from Lectra’s local agent, Aamra Resource Team.
Speaking at the event, BGMEA Acting President Inamul Haq Khan said that developing a technology-driven skilled workforce is essential to move the apparel industry forward. The strategic partnership with Lectra will help provide global-standard training to BGMEA’s students and strengthen Bangladesh’s competitiveness in the apparel sector.
Lectra Singapore’s Vice President Pascal Pierra said, “We are delighted to welcome BGMEA to our education partner program. Through this collaboration, we aim to support the development of young Bangladeshi talent in the field of fashion technology.”
This collaboration will enhance the quality of training, expand employment opportunities, and help integrate Bangladesh’s apparel sector with global technological standards—marking a significant step towards innovation and digital transformation, reports BSS .
