BTRC has decided to withdraw the ban on SIM sales of top mobile service operator Grameenphone.

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has decided to withdraw the ban on SIM sales of top mobile service operator Grameenphone.
BTRC took the decision at a meeting on January 1 (Sunday).
Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said, “Grameenphone has fulfilled all conditions including improvement of network infrastructure and we have seen a lot of improvement in the situation [quality of services], so we are considering withdrawl of the SIM sales ban”.
Earlier on June 29, 2022, four days after the Padma bridge inauguration, the telecom regulator, on the instruction from the Posts and Telecommunications Division, banned Grameenphone’s SIM sales until it improves its quality of services including bringing down call drop rate.
