BTRC has lifted the ban on Grameenphone SIM card sale.

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has lifted the ban on Grameenphone SIM card sale. The ban was finally lifted on Monday night, six months after its imposition.
Yasir Azman, CEO of Grameenphone, said on Tuesday morning, "We have received the letter about withdrawal of the ban on SIM sales."
BTRC authorities imposed the ban on June 29, 2022, due to the operator's failure to provide quality service.
On the day of the Padma Bridge inauguration, GP network was not good there. The Prime Minister saw it. The cabinet secretary then called the secretary of posts and telecommunications division and expressed his displeasure. The operator continues to get complaints about the poor quality of its service. Moreover, there was also a writ in the court. All these have led to the decision to ban GP SIM card sales.
