Shaheed Kamaruzzaman National Junior Tennis Tournament begins in Rajshahi

Rajshahi, 21 Sept  - A five-day long Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman National Junior Tennis Tournament began at Advocate Abdus Salam Tennis Complex here today.

Around 120 junior boys and girls from 13 clubs across the country are taking
part in the tournament scheduled to be continued until September 25.

The participating clubs are: Advocate Abdus Salam Tennis Complex, Bangladesh
Tennis Federation, Dhaka Cantonment Club, Narsingdi Club, BKSP, Dhaka Club,
Uttara Club, Naogaon Club, Jhalakathi Club, Comilla Club, Madaripur Club and
Meherpur Club.

Advocate Abdus Salam Tennis Complex is hosting the tournament in association
with Bangladesh Tennis Federation and Shapura Silk Mills Limited.

Awami League Presidium Member and Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM
Khairuzzaman Liton inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest this
afternoon.

With Commissioner of Rajshahi division GSM Zafarullah in the chair, the
inaugural ceremony was attended, among others, by Deputy Inspector General of
Police Abdul Baten, Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Abu Kalam
Siddique and Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Abdul Jalil.
 
Meanwhile, draws of all the matches were held this morning. A total of 13 events of boys and girls players will be held from 9 am without any break every day. Prizes will be distributed after closing each of the events. This tournament will be organized every year from coming year.
