Bangladesh tennis team leaves for Bahrain

Dhaka, 18 Nov - A four-member of Bangladesh tennis team left here today (Monday) for Bahrain to take part in the '2024 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group-5' tennis tournament scheduled to begin from November 18 to 24 in Isa Town.

Apart from host Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Laos, Macau, Maldives, Mongolia, Yemen, Nepal, Tajikistan, Guam, Turkmenistan, Northern Marina Island and Philippines Davis Cup teams will participate in the competition which will he held under the authorization of International Tennis Federation and under the management of Bahrain Tennis Federation.

Initially all the participating teams, split into four groups, will play the group phase matches on the basis of round robin league. Later, the two champions teams will be promoted to Group-4 and both the teams will compete in the 2025 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania region group-4.

The Bangladesh tennis team is expected to return home on November 25.
