Fujikawaguchiko, May 21, 2024 - A Japanese town on Tuesday began mounting a large mesh barrier at a popular viewing spot for Mount Fuji in an attempt to deter tourists from taking photos, an AFP reporter said.

Locals in Fujikawaguchiko are fed up with what they say are unending streams of mostly foreign visitors littering, trespassing and breaking traffic rules in their hunt for a photo of Japan's most famous sight. - AFP
