Gold price hits record high

Jewellers have raised the price of gold by Tk 4,199 to Tk 82,464 a bhari on the local market due to an unusual hiking of the rate of dollar and other currencies on the global market.



Jewellers have raised the price of gold by Tk 4,199 to Tk 82,464 a bhari on the local market due to an unusual hiking of the rate of dollar and other currencies on the global market.

Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) took the decision on Saturday (May 21) which will be effective from Sunday (May 22).

According to the new rate, 22-carat (11.664gm) gold will cost Tk 82,464 per bhari.

The price of 21-carat gold per bhari will cost Tk 78,732, 18 carat gold to Tk 67,534 a bhari and traditional gold Tk 53,421 a bhari from Tk 56,220 a bhari.
