Export-Import through Benapole land port suspended

Export-import activities between Bangladesh and India through Benapole land port remained suspended since Monday morning.



Dhaka, Aug 30 :  Export-import activities between Bangladesh and India through Benapole land port remained suspended since Monday morning due to Janmashtami holiday in India.

However, the passengers with passports are allowed to cross the border.

Kartik Chakraborty, general secretary of Petrapole C&F Agents Staff Welfare Association, India, said “The trade activities through Petrapole land port remained suspended due to holiday in India. The trade activities will resume on Tuesday.”

Deputy Commissioner of Benapole Customs House, Belal Hossain, said “The trade activities between the two countries remained suspended on Monday but the cargo unit of the port remained open for allowing empty truck to leave  the port,”reports UNB.
