Paturia-Daulatdia ferry service resumes after 11 hrs

Ferry movement was normalized around 8:30 am on Thursday as the fog density was reduced in the river.



The ferry movement on the Paturia-Daulatdia route has returned to normal after being closed for 11 hours due to dense fog.

BIWTC authorities confirmed that the ferry service resumed on the route on Thursday (January 4) around 8:30 am.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Daulatdia Office Assistant Manager Abdul Rahim said dense fog started falling in the river on Wednesday around 9:00 pm. At one point, the waterway was covered in fog. Later, the ferry service was temporarily shut around 9:30 pm to avoid accidents.

Later, ferry movement was normalized around 8:30 am on Thursday as the fog density was reduced in the river. The ferries stuck in the middle river reached the shore and unloaded passengers and vehicles.
