Metro Rail's Uttara to Motijheel service till 8:40pm from Saturday

As per the new schedule, the first Metro Rail train will depart Uttara North Station at 7:10am, said DMTCL Managing Director MAN Siddique while addressing a press conference at Expatriate Welfare Bhaban at Kakrail in the capital.



The last train of Dhaka Metro Rail will leave Motijheel for Uttara at 8:40pm six days a week, starting next Saturday, said Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) announcing an updated schedule on Thursday (January 18).

As per the new schedule, the first Metro Rail train will depart Uttara North Station at 7:10am, said DMTCL Managing Director MAN Siddique while addressing a press conference at Expatriate Welfare Bhaban at Kakrail in the capital.

He said that the scheduled day off is Friday.

MAN Siddique said the first two trains departing Uttara at 7:10am and 7:20am will carry only MRT and Rapid Pass holding passengers, while the first train for general passengers from Motijheel will leave for Uttara at 7:30am, he said.

He said the last four trains departing Uttara at 8:10pm, 8:20pm, 8:30pm and 8:40pm will also solely for the MRT and Rapid Pass holding passengers and for those who will purchase tickets before the counter close at 7:45pm.

Buying of MRT passes and top up facilities will be available at every station from 7:15am to 7:45pm.

The authorities say they will operate the trains in three segments. There will be a 10-minute gap at peak hours from 7:10am to 11:30am, a 12-minute headway in off peak hours from 11:31am to 4:00pm and 10-minute headway from 4:01pm to 8:00pm in the second peak hour slot.

The trains will stop at all sixteen stations from Uttara to Motijheel.
