14km tailback on Bangabandhu Bridge Highway

The traffic jam persisted from the eastern side of the Bangabandhu Bridge, extending all the way to Elenga in Tangail.



Several road accidents resulted in a huge traffic jam spanning a 14-kilometre on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway early Monday (February 19).

The traffic jam persisted from the eastern side of the Bangabandhu Bridge, extending all the way to Elenga in Tangail.

Police said that a truck got stuck in Zokarchar area around 2:00am due to technical glitch. Later, a truck collided with a covered van in Hatia area around 4:00am on the route.

Bangabandhu Bridge police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Alamgir Ashraf said vehicles on the road are moving slowly due to the traffic jam. Several police team are working to ease the jam.
