Travel ban imposed on ex-railway minister Mujibul Haque

Dhaka, 9 Jan - A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on former railway minister Mujibul Haque.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order after hearing a petition filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday.

ACC Deputy Director Md Masudur Rahman filed a petition seeking travel ban for Mujibul, also MP from the Cumilla-11 constituency, said court inspector Amir Hossain.

 

According to the petition, allegations have been brought against the former railway minister of amassing wealth through irregularities including tender bidding, recruitment process and embezzlement from railway projects.

 

Besides, allegations were raised against the former minister of acquiring property in the country and abroad through misusing his power.
