Bangladesh Railways is set to launch a pair of commuter trains on the Dhaka-Narsingdi-Bhairab Bazar-Dhaka route starting March 26, marking a significant improvement in local transportation.

The initiative will be officially inaugurated by Railway Affairs Adviser Fouzul Kabir Khan at Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka, where he will welcome the Narsingdi Commuter-1 arriving from Bhairab Bazar.

The Narsingdi Commuter-1 will depart Bhairab Bazar at 6:45 AM and is scheduled to arrive at Kamalapur Station by 9:05 AM. The train will make stops at Doulatkandi, Methikanda, Narsingdi, Arikhola, Tongi, Dhaka Airport, and Tejgaon stations along the way.

In the evening, the Narsingdi Commuter-4 will depart Kamalapur Station at 6:30 PM, reaching Bhairab Bazar at 9:01 PM. This train will also make stops at Tejgaon, Dhaka Airport, Tongi, Pubail, Arikhola, and Methikanda stations.

Additionally, the coaches of the Narayanganj commuter train will be upgraded to 11 new, modern coaches on March 26, ensuring smoother and more comfortable travel for passengers. This upgrade will replace the existing eight pairs of commuter train coaches with newer, more efficient ones.

During the inauguration of four new commuter trains on the Dhaka-Joydebpur-Dhaka route, Adviser Khan also announced plans for the launch of new commuter services between Narsingdi and Narayanganj on March 26, coinciding with the celebration of National Independence Day.

These additions are part of Bangladesh Railways' ongoing effort to enhance the rail network and provide better, more reliable commuter services for the people.
