Dhaka’s popular Metrorail service resumed operations today after a one-day closure for Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the largest religious festivals for Muslims.

The first trip departed from the Uttara North Station at 7:10 a.m., heading towards Motijheel, while the first train from Motijheel left for Uttara North Station at 7:30 a.m., according to a spokesperson from the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the operator of the Metrorail.

Metrorail services were paused on Monday in observance of Eid-ul-Fitr, but the DMTCL had previously announced that operations would resume the following day, with regular service continuing from today.
