A 10-year old madrasah student was found dead in a washroom of a local madrasah in Banasree area of the capital on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Md Abdullah, son of Abul Kalam Azad of Anupnagar village in Sadar upazila of Chapainawabganj district.

Saiful Islam, Sub-inspector of Rampura Police Station, said being informed by local people, police recovered the hanging body of Abdullah from the washroom of the 2nd floor of Alokito Quran International Hifz Madrasa (AQIHM) in the morning, reports UNB.

“We suspect that he was sexually assaulted,” the SI said.

The exact cause of death will be known after receiving the autopsy report, he added.
