Father, son killed in Rangpur road crash

Rangpur, July 2 – A septuagenarian man and his young son were killed as a truck crashed into their motorcycle in Gangachara upazila of Rangpur on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Nirmal Chandra Roy, 75, and his son Prashanto Chandra Roy, 35, of the Paschim Mandrain area of Sadar union of the upazila.

Nirmal’s grandson Bandhan Chandra Roy was also injured in the accident.

Locals said the trio was heading towards Tulshihat on a motorcycle to attend a wedding ceremony when the accident took place near Manthana Bazar around 3:00pm.

The accident left Prashant dead on the spot, and Nirmal and Bidhan injured.

The injured were taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Nirmal dead.
