3 of a family found dead in Bagerhat

An octogenarian woman, her daughter and grandson were found dead at a house at Chanderkhola village in Kachua upazila of Bagerhat district on Tuesday.


The deceased were identified as Rashida Begum, 85, wife of Rashid Sheikh, her daughter Monira Begum, 55 and Monira’s son Ahat Hawladar, 25 of the village.

Getting no response from the house of Rashida Begum in the morning, local people informed the matter to police.

Mahmud Hasan, Sub-inspector of Kachua Police Station, said being informed by local people, police recovered their bloodstained bodies from two separate rooms of the house, reports UNB.

Police suspected that the victims were killed a day or two before their bodies were recovered.

Police are investigating the cause of their death, said SI Mahmudul.
