Two children drown in Chandpur

Two children drowned in a pond at Ujani village under Kachua upazila of the district this afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Sadia, 10, daughter of Rahim Hossain and Samira, 8, daughter of Billal Hossain. Samira had come from Chattogram to visit her grandfather’s house in Ujani village.
According to locals, the two children were playing in the courtyard of the house at around 1.00 pm when they accidentally fell into a nearby pond.
After the children went missing, family members began searching for them. They eventually found the two children floating in the pond and rescued them.
They were rushed to Kachua Upazila Health Complex, where on-duty physician declared them dead.
Officer-in-Charge of Kachua Police Station Md Azizul Islam Akash confirmed the matter, reports BSS.
