Two children drown in Cumilla pond

Two children drowned in a pond at Baraiya village under Bagmara South union in Lalmai upazila of the district this morning.
The deceased were Abdur Rahman, 4, son of expatriate Sohel Rana, and Jubayer, 5, son of Jewel Rana. Both were residents of Baraiya village.
According to family members, when the two children were playing near their home in the morning, they accidentally fell into a nearby pond, reports BSS.
Family members began searching for them and later found the children floating in the pond around 11.30 am. They quickly rescued the boys and took them to a doctor at Bagmara Bazar where the doctor declared them dead, Inspector (Investigation) of Lalmai Police Station Saiful Islam said.
