The body of Sumona Akter, who went missing alongwith her two daughters in the Meghna River on Friday after a passenger trawler capsized, was recovered on Saturday morning.

The body of Sumona Akter, who went missing alongwith her two daughters in the Meghna River on Friday after a passenger trawler capsized, was recovered on Saturday morning.
Members of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) and coast guard found the body at Ramjan Beg area of Munshiganj's Sadar upazila at 6:30am after they started the search for the second day for the missing persons.
Five people, including Sumona's two daughters Jannatul Ferdous Safa, 3, and Jannatul Mawa, 7, are still missing.
Due to the deep and extensive dredging of the river bed, the search operation has to be accelerated, coast guard members said.
The incident took place around 6:30pm on Friday near Munshiganj's Gajaria Ghat.
BIWTA's deputy director Md Obaidul Karim said, "They stopped the drive at 12midnight due to rough weather and started the search at 6am again."
A group of family members were returning Gajaria by the trawler on Friday evening after visiting a spot in Kishoreganj area. Suddenly, it capsized after being hit by a sand-laden bulkhead in the mid-river.
