Gas line blast claims lives of two sisters in N’ganj

The deceased were known as Jannati Akter, 18, Rahima Begum, 35, daughters of Md Motaleb Mia, hailed from South Charkhali village of Golachipa in Patuakhali.



Two sisters, who were injured in a gas line explosion at a house in Narayanganj's Siddhirganj on Wednesday, died at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery today (January 30).

The deceased were known as Jannati Akter, 18, Rahima Begum, 35, daughters of Md Motaleb Mia, hailed from South Charkhali village of Golachipa in Patuakhali.

Sources said Jannati Akter died under treatment around 6:00am on Tuesday (January 30) after suffering 15 percent burn injuries. Earlier, her elder sister Rahima Begum died at the hospital on Monday evening.

Tariqul Islam, Residencial Doctor at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery confirmed the matter.

Earlier, six people were critically injured in the explosion in a tin-shed house caused by gas leakage on January 24.
