Young man killed in honeymoon night in Kalapara

Patuakhali: Police recovered the strangled body of a young man named Omar Ali (25) a day after his wedding in Kalapara of Patuakhali. His body was recovered from a pepper field near his house in Taher Pur village of Latachapali union under Mohipur police station of the upazila at nine o'clock on Tuesday (February 6). Deceased Omar is the son of Shahjahan Farazi of that area. This incident has created a sensation in the area. Police have started an investigation to unravel the mystery of the murder.

According to police and local sources, Rukaiya (18), daughter of Shahalam of Tajepara village of the same union, got married to Omar Ali last Sunday. After the bridal shower at the bride's house yesterday, Ruqaiya was brought to Omar Ali's house along with her family members. At the end of Basr, Umar left the house in the early morning to pray. Later, around seven in the morning, locals found his strangled body in the pepper field.

Bride Rukaiya (18) said, after the Fajr call, we both went to the pond to perform ablution. He was going to the mosque to pray and I had returned home. Later, around seven o'clock, I heard that his dead body was lying in the pepper field.

Omar Ali's father Shahjahan Faraji said, I went to the mosque after seeing my son and wife on the bank of the pond at dawn. After coming back after the congregation, I saw the son's body lying in the pepper field.
