Krishak Dal leader hacked to death in Sitakunda

Chattogram, Mar 27 – A leader of Jatiyatabadi  Krishak Dal was hacked to death in Chattogram’s Barabkunda area of Sitakunda on Wednesday night. 

The deceased was Md Nasir Uddin, 47, a resident of Hatilota village in Barabkunda union and organising secretary of Krishak Dal’s Sitakunda unit.

Sitakunda Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mojibur Rahman said he came under attack  around 7pm when he was leaving his home after iftar.

A group of miscreants ambushed and hacked him before dumping his body in a nearby jungle.

Police later recovered the body. 

Badiul Alam Badrul, convener of the Krishak Dal’s north district unit, said Nasir was involved had a longstanding dispute with some local people over soil trading in the area.

Police launched a drive to arrest those involved in the killing.

The body has been sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for an autopsy, the OC added. - UNB
