Toddler drowns in Jhenaidah

A two-year-old boy drowned in a pond at Garabaria village under Maheshpur municipality in the district this afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Simanta Das, son of Madhu Das of the same area.
According to family sources, the child accidentally fell into the pond while playing with a ball near his house around 1:30 pm.
Later, family members found him floating in the pond and rushed him to Maheshpur Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, reports BSS.
Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Maheshpur Police Station Sajjadur Rahman confirmed the incident.
