Missing youth’s body found in Benapole

Police recovered the body of a young man from a pond at Ghiba village in Benapole on Monday morning, two days after he went missing.


The deceased was identified as Abdul Alim ,32, son of Shahadat Ali of Sadipur village under Benapole Port police station.

Manik Saha, Officer-in-Charge of Benapole Port Police Station, said locals spotted a floating body in a roadside pond early Monday morning and informed police.

Later, police recovered the body.

Quoting victim’s brother, Ibrahim Hossain, the OC said Abdul Alim had left his home on Saturday to visit his relatives at Ghiba village.

The body has been sent to Jessore General Hospital morgue for autopsy, reports UNB.
