Two students electrocuted in Bhola

Two students died after being electrocuted in a rat trap in Janata Basjar area under Char Fashion upazila of the district last night.


The deceased were Jihan, 15, son of Md. Farid Uddin, a resident of Umarpur union and a ninth-grade student of Char Fashion Government TB Secondary School, and Md. Jubayed Islam, 16, son of Riaz Mia, a resident of the same area and a ninth-grade student of the local Aligaon A-Gafur Secondary School. 

Police said that the two students were on their way home from private around 7:30 pm when they were electrocuted by a rat trap set by farmer Jahangir Mahajan on the side of the road. 

Locals rescued them and took them to Char Fashion Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared both of them dead. 

Char Fashion Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman Howlader confirmed the matter and said a case was registered in this connection on Tuesday morning. 

Legal action is being taken against those who set up electricity traps on cropland, reports BSS.
