Patuakhali: Police have recovered the body of a youth named Ferdous Munshi (38), wich was buried in a canal bank in Kalapara, Patuakhali, three days after he went missing. The body was recovered from the banks of Sapuria Canal in Madhukhali village of Mithaganj union of the upazila around 1 pm on Sunday. The deceased Ferdous Munshi is the son of Rahman Munshi of the village.

According to police and local sources, Ferdous went missing after leaving his house at 9 pm on Thursday after seeing his sick father. Later, his family members searched for him but could not find him. This morning, locals saw a scene of new soil being cut in the Sapuria Canal char. Later, when they suspected something, they found his body only after the soil was removed from there. At that time, he was hanged with a nylon rope and was wearing shorts and a shirt.

Kalapara Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Sameer Sarkar said that the deceased was hanged with a nylon rope and killed. In addition, his left thumb was cut off. Maximum efforts are being made to identify those involved in the incident. The body is being sent to the Patuakhali morgue for autopsy. - Gofran Palash
