Air Force emerge champions in Independence cup volleyball

Dhaka, 23 April-Bangladesh Air Force emerged champions in the Turkish Airline Independence Cup volleyball competition beating Power Development Board by 3-2 set in the final held at Shaheed Noor Hossain National Volleyball Stadium Wednesday.

Earlier on the day, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan finished third in the 
meet defeating Bangladesh Ansar and Village defense Party by 3-1 set in the 
place-deciding match also held at the same venue.

Turkish Ambassador to Dhaka Ramis Sen was the chief guest in te final and 
distributed the prizes.

Turkish Air Line general manager Islam Gure was present as the special guest.

Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF) president Faruque Hassan presided over 
the closing ceremony.  

A total of eight teams took part in the meet, sponsored by Turkish Air Lines 
and organized by BVF.

The participating teams are Bangladesh Air Force, Power Development Board, 
Titas Club, Bangladesh Krira Shkiikha Prothistan, Bangladesh Jail, Bangladesh 
Police, Ansar and Village Defense Party and Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil 
Defense. Defending champions Bangladesh is not taking part in the meet.BSS
