Rain likely across parts of country in next 24 hours

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers in different parts of the country during the next 24 hours beginning from 9 am.

According to a Met Office bulletin issued this morning, light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes are likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions.

Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may also occur at places across the country, the bulletin said.

Day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country.

The highest temperature recorded on Thursday was 36 degrees Celsius at Mongla and Ramgati, while today's minimum temperature was 22 degrees Celsius in Tangail.

In the capital, the sun will set at 6:47 pm today and rise at 5:10 am tomorrow, reports BSS.
