Five-Day Rain Forecast, Heavy Downpours in Places

Rain or thundershowers are likely in different parts of Bangladesh over the next five days, with moderate to heavy rainfall possible in some areas, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

The forecast, issued at 6pm on Saturday (September 26), covers the 120 hours through October 1.

For Sunday and Monday (September 27–28), light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur at one or two places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

No heavy rainfall is expected during these two days. Day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country on Sunday, while temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged on Monday.

By Tuesday (September 29), rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places in the other divisions. Some areas of Barishal and Chattogram may receive moderate to heavy rainfall.

On Wednesday (September 30), rain or thundershowers are likely at many places in Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places in Mymensingh, Dhaka and Khulna divisions. Elsewhere, the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies.

Moderate to heavy rainfall may occur at some places in Chattogram and Sylhet divisions on Wednesday. Day temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged, while night temperatures may fall slightly.

On Thursday (October 1), rain or thundershowers may occur at many places in Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at some places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barishal divisions.

Some areas of Chattogram and Sylhet may receive moderate to heavy rainfall on Thursday. Both day and night temperatures may fall slightly across the country.
