Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra advised to hoist distant cautionary signal No 1



Dhaka, Aug 31 - The well-marked low over West Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay moved west or northwest direction and intensified into a monsoon depression over West Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of North-Andhra-South Odisha coast at 6 am on Saturday.

It is likely to move west or northwest direction further and likely to cross north Andhra-South Odisha coast by midnight on Saturday, said a special bulletin Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist distant cautionary signal No 1.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.-UNB
