Rain, thunderstorms likely in parts of country: BMD

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur  at different places across the country for the next 72 hours commencing from 9 am this morning.

“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Chattogram divisions,” said BMD latest weather bulletin this morning.

Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the bulletin added.
“Trough of low lies over North Bay. A low pressure area is likely to form over the central Bay of Bengal around 22, 2024,” it said.
According to the bulletin, the country's maximum temperature on Friday was recorded 35.5 degree Celsius at Feni in Chattogram division and minimum temperature was recorded 21.5 degree Celsius at Dimla in Rangpur division.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded 115 millimeters (mm) at Jashore in Khulna division, reports BSS.
