Highly poisonous Russell's Viper snake recovered in Kalapara

Patuakhali: A highly venomous Russell's viper snake was rescued in Kalapara, Patuakhali by the Kalapara branch members of Animal Lovers of Patuakhali. The snake was recovered from the house of Hasem Chowdhury of Char Dhalasar village of Dhalasar union of the upazila on Thursday evening. The length of the snake is 2 feet. Later, when the snake was brought to the Kalapara Launch Ghat area around eight o'clock in the night, the eager crowd gathered to have a look.

Animal Lovers of Patuakhali's Kalapara branch team leader Rakayet Ahsan said that the snake got trapped in the net left by the house. It was rescued and given first aid after removing the net. These snakes mainly live in sand. The snake will be sent to Venom Resource Center in Chittagong for resource. - Gofran Biswas Palash
