36-year-old woman stabbed to death in Keraniganj



Dhaka, May 30 - A 36-year-old woman died after being stabbed by miscreants at her home in Dhaka’s Keraniganj early Thursday.

Nargis Akhtar Sima (36), was rushed in critical condition to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital, where the duty doctor declared her dead.

Mamunur Rashid, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of South Keraniganj Police Station, confirmed the incident.

Miscreants entered Sima's house during the early hours of Thursday and stabbed her indiscriminately. Upon hearing her cries, neighbours rushed to her rescue and took her to the emergency department of Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital, where she was declared dead, the OC added..

Sima's husband, Riyaz, is in prison in a drug case. Sima lived with her two children in the rented house of Saleh Ahmed in Beyara village of South Keraniganj.

Sharjit Kumar Ghosh, OC (investigation) of South Keraniganj Police Station, said a murder case was filed at the police station against four unnamed people. Efforts are on to identify those involved in the murder.-UNB
