The Cabinet on Monday decided to declare April 20, a Thursday as a public holiday to facilitate people’s journeys to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr in the countryside as the five-day .
Eid vacation begins on April 19.
The Eid vacation is due to begin on April 21, a Friday and ends on April 23, a Sunday. Shab-e-Qadr holiday is on April 19, a Wednesday and April 20 was scheduled to be the last working day before Eid.
The Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took the decision to declare April 20, as a public holiday, the t meeting over, Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain told reporters at a news briefing held at the Cabinet conference room in Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
