A circular, signed by Director General of the Department of Labour Khaled Mamun Chowdhury, was issued on Wednesday night.
According to the circular, State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian met with representatives of the Bangladesh Tea Association and the Bangladesh Tea Workers Union at the conference room of the Labour Building in the capital’s Bijoynagar.
The meeting was held to resolve the situation regarding payment of arrears of tea workers.
In view of the Prime Minister’s announcement, the tea workers have been getting increased wages and all other benefits from the day after
