One of the reasons would be the lack of clear understanding about this program among the common people.

Some 16,000 people registered to join the universal pension scheme in three months.

Although three months have been passed after launching the pension scheme, the investment in the sector is not responding at the expected rate.

One of the reasons would be the lack of clear understanding about this program among the common people, the concerned authority is working on the issue, said sources.

Currently four types of schemes have been introduced under the universal pension. They are— Progoti, Surokkha, Somota and Probash.

According to the information of the National Pension Authority, in the last three months, the total contribution of the pension customers is about Tk16.20 crore.
