136 Bangladeshis return home from Libya

After their arrival at the Dhaka airport, Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials and IOM officials welcomed these Bangladeshi citizens.



A total of 136 Bangladeshi nationals, who were detained at a detention centre in the Libyan capital of Tripoli, returned home Thursday.

A flight of Buraq Air carrying the Bangladeshi nationals landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Thursday (December 14).

They were detained at the Benghazi Detention Center in Tripoli. With the all-out efforts of Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli, Libyan government and direct cooperation of International Organization for Migration (IOM), the detained Bangladeshis returned home.

After their arrival at the Dhaka airport, Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials and IOM officials welcomed these Bangladeshi citizens.

On this occasion, IOM gave each of them Tk 6,058 as pocket money and some food items.
