President of Indian National Congress Sonia Gandhi, 75, was discharged from hospital last evening and she is now staying at home following doctor’s advice.

“Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi has been discharged from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital this evening and advised rest at home,” Party Spokesperson Jairam Ramesh tweeted yesterday.

Mrs. Gandhi was rushed to the hospital with a profuse of nose bleed and other complications following a Covid-19 infection on Sunday last.

During the workup at the hospital, the doctors detected a fungal infection in the lower respiratory tract for which she had to undergo a procedure, media reports said quoting hospital sources.

She was tested positive for Covid-19 and developed a mild fever 10 days before the hospital admission, reports BSS.
