Trump claims Russia, China secretly conduct underground nuclear tests

US President Donald Trump on Sunday claimed that nuclear-armed nations, including Russia and China, have carried out underground nuclear tests without public disclosure.

“Russia’s testing, and China’s testing, but they don’t talk about it,” Trump said in an interview with CBS’s 60 Minutes when asked about his recent directive for the United States to resume nuclear weapons testing.

He further suggested that such activities might go undetected, saying, “You don’t necessarily know where they’re testing. They test deep underground where people can’t tell exactly what’s happening.”
