Sabuj Sathi Award distributed to three organisations and persons for protecting the environment in Kalapara.



Patuakhali: Three environmental organizers, organizations and an environmental worker have been honored with Sabuj Sathi in Patuakhali's Kalapara for their special contribution in protecting the coastal environment.

Mezbahuddin Mannu, Kalapara coordinator of Waterkeepers, presided over the awarding ceremony organized by Dharitri Raksha Amara (Dhara) and Waterkeepers at Kalapara Press Club Engineer Md. Tauhidur Rahman (CIP) auditorium.

Kalapara Municipal Mayor Bipul Chandra Howladar was present as the chief guest. Press Club President Md. Humayun Kabir, Kalapara Upazila Forest Officer Md. Monirul Haque were present as special guests. 

In the event, environmental activist Delwar Hossain Dulu, environmental organizer Kamal Hossain Roni and environmental organization Amara Kalaparabasi were presented with crests and certificates of Sabuj Sathi Award 2024 by the guests.

The guests called upon everyone to work like these enterprising youths and organizations to stop the cutting of trees in the coastal area and to protect the environment. - Gofran Biswas Palash
