9 students jailed, 4 expelled on 3rd day of RU admission test

Eight students were sentenced to 3 months in jail and another to 6 months on for adopting unfair means in the ongoing admission test in Rajshahi University (RU) after they were produced before a mobile court here on Wednesday.
Of the convicted examinees Md Zikem Ali of Chapainawabganj, Anas Md Faruk,Tushar Chakrabarti of RUET, Siddikur Rahman of Pabna, Mashiur Rahman of Rajshahi, Jamsedul Alam and Ashikur Rahman of RU, Abdullah Al Numan of Rajshahi College were sentenced to 3 months in prison and Hasanul Bari of Khustia to 6 months in jail.For copying in the admission test Md. Mizanur Rahman of Rajshahi Dental College (RDC) Nawshad Ali of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (BSZRM), Bogra, Ayesha Siddiqa and Shahriar Parvez of Motihar Thana were expelled.
RU Proctor Professor Tarikul Hasan confirmed the news. The nine students were detained from different exam halls during the F and H unit admission tests.
Nilufa Yeasmin, executive magistrate of the mobile court, issued the imprisonment order. – RU Correspondent
