To raise awareness about the bad effect of taking drugs among the students, an anti-drug organization titled on ‘Anti-Drug Students Society’ has launched its journey at the campus on Thursday.Advisor of this organization Jebunnessa, assistant professor of dept. of public administration launched the activity of the organization by releasing pigeons in front of social science building around 3:00pm.
Over 100 JU students of different department have taken the oath and pledged against drug, at the programme.
Addressing the inaugural session, Jebunnessa said, “We will work hand in hand to raise awareness on the issues among the general students as well as all wakes of people gradually. A committee would be formed immediately to work the whole campus as well as across the country.”
She opined to the youth generation to give up taking drug and also urged to the university authorities to join their movement and build a drug-free society.
Among others, Belal Hossain Rahat, President of JU Journalist’s Association, Shafiqul Islam Shakib, president of Tori, a non-profit volunteer organisation, Mutasim Billah Baki, Cadet under Officer of BNCC, Saiful Islam Akash, General Secretary of Dhony, were present at the launching programme.
